A small story about being sexually assaulted in fursuit.

by Patch O'Furr

Or should I say “manhandled?”  Nah… Dogpiled. That’s more like it.

This story is no reason for alarm.  It’s just a P.S.A. to say “hey guys, look out for each other!”

With this story, I’m assuming:

  • You’re a furry, or at least you don’t hate them. (It’s in-group stuff.)
  • You don’t hate hearing about adult activity, with a disclaimer that it’s a special sub-interest that doesn’t define furries.

The fur was flying at a party that was very loud, crowded and gay. Muffled music was coming through my fursuit head. I was bouncing around and giving hugs to everyone, from “just friends” all the way to grinding if they wanted.  People know I’m into that (in the right time and place,) even if they come up behind me and I can’t tell who it is.  Basically, “if you see my fursuit, that’s my consent.”

A guy shoved up in the darkness, and I thought he was a regular.  He started pawing my junk, and his friend crowded in and yanked my belt off.  She got rough because I had suspenders on it holding up my tail.  That’s when I got surprised and flustered, because furries aren’t aggressive. Even when there’s “instant consent” with ones I can’t see, they’re respectful, but this was rough handling by outsiders.

I told them to stop it, because it was going to get the club in trouble, and they would kick us out for exposure.  I backed away until they stopped. The noise made it hard to say anything, and it was hard to show I needed help in suit, or zip up with paws on.  A bystander helped get my pants on, and then he said “hey, those guys got my wallet!”  I couldn’t help him. Only after I took my head off, I saw the button was torn off my pants.  It took a little while to realize that I got targeted, and a whole day or two to realize that it wasn’t just pick-pocketing, it was even sexual assault.

I didn’t get hurt, but I’m offended! They messed with my friends, and I hate that they caused even a little suspicion about being open to outsiders. It was a rare invasion at our place. It’s a place where helpers and supporters vastly outnumber bad people.  I was asked to be careful about making people fear going to events, so place and names are left out.  But it’s already a private topic among others, and it’s personal, so I think it’s OK to share.  To repeat- they were rare outsiders.  These kind of thieves are known to not hit the same place twice.  People who have a job to watch out for others are already on this.  I agree that it’s part of being in an urban place, and no reason to fear going out.

Another report said:

I remember those two “non-regulars”. The sketchy guy started rubbing himself against my junk (He told me “don’t mind me baby”) while the big lady was standing right next to me. It was close to the entrance, next to the restroom. It was very packed. I felt a hand in my butt and my first reaction was to grab my wallet. Definitely need to be careful with suspicious people in such tight places.

The police got a report about theft, and club owners talk to each other.  Surveillance brings up privacy issues, but I’ll watch in case they show up in party photos.

Let’s break down a few points:

  • The boundary of consent was VERY loose, making a big grey area. They crossed it by being rough with bad intentions, not just by touching me.  I want free boundaries because I love hugging everyone, and even encourage behavior they used against me.
  • It was confusing because guys aren’t typically regarded as targets for sexual assault.  It doesn’t matter if they only did it for money.  That’s what it was.
  • They probably get away with it often (at least 4 targets in this case) by using that against people.  The guy was the instigator, but the lady carried it out. They were bold and practiced.
  • Yeah, I’m a big old slut… but I didn’t ask to get robbed.  I did put myself at risk by being so open… but I won’t let them ruin things.
  • This is why fursuiters have spotters.

Life is complicated like that. Be spotters for each other, and stay furry.
