Nazi-furry sex offender Jacob Kovar loses in court, but is still shielded by Colorado furry groups

by Patch O'Furr

A meritless case to remove a felony conviction.

Youtube’s Law Talk With Mike has a lawyer who covers silly antics in court, often by self-represented (Pro Se) Sovereign Citizens who make fools of themselves.

In August 2026, the channel featured a furry named Jacob Kovar.

Kovar had a long record as a repeat felon who kept making furry news. He helped to run the Furry Raiders nazi-furry group while bouncing in and out of jail. In 2019, Dogpatch Press was credited in an arrest warrant for Kovar, for reporting him for witness intimidation that targeted Dogpatch Press as well.

The 2026 court date was right after Kovar finished jail time that Dogpatch Press helped him to get. Kovar was representing himself to get that crime taken off his record. Fresh out of jail, he was trying to deny responsibility and undo justice for the victims.

The two-hour video explains why he lost and how the law works.

Furry Studies third academic conference planned for Australia, call for proposals

by Dogpatch Press Staff

Welcome to guest Zeldstarro, a semi-furred dragon that likes geography and travel and also writes about furry event mapping.

You may remember Dogpatch Press previously reporting on Furry Studies and their two international conferences, held in the Netherlands in 2024, then Washington State in the US in 2025. For those who don’t remember, or are stumbling into this post, Furry Studies is an academic conference that aims to add more research from and about the fandom, as well as opening more research avenues more generally. Unlike Furscience, which is a group of researchers that conducts its own research, Furry Studies instead hosts or publishes research. Think about it like panels in a furry convention – while Furscience (for example) may host a panel at, say, 4pm on Saturday, Furry Studies would be responsible for booking the meeting room with the venue itself.

The next conference will take place in July 2027, on the Wednesday and Thursday preceding Aurawra, a furry convention. More specifically, it will be in Parramatta (basically Sydney) in New South Wales, Australia (with online streaming). Since Aurawra’s exact dates are yet to be determined, the same holds true for Furry Studies.

However, the “Call for Proposals” is in effect and is on the Furry Studies website! This year’s theme is Feeling the ‘fur’.

The first theme in 2024 was What does it mean to be furry?, and the second year focused on furry worldbuilding on the global stage. For the third iteration, Furry Studies asks: “How do furries use fursuits, fursonas, and the feeling of ‘fur’ to navigate identity, belonging, and collective creativity?”

Put briefly, there are two main categories for proposals: academic papers and community talks.

Toronto’s Summer of Fur (2026) – Guest post by Arrkay

by Arrkay

Welcome to Arrkay, a Toronto furry who produces Furry Film Burrow, a Youtube channel dedicated to furry community projects. See Arrkay’s tag for previous stories.

I’m exhausted. Wiped. Drained. Pooped. Stick a fork in me. I have barely enough in me to write this. I’ve been partying every single weekend this summer, and it’s furry’s fault. Toronto’s furry community has popped off this summer, and I’m incredibly proud (but also eepy). It may have to do with the fact that fewer Canadians are crossing the border, and they’re looking to fill their FOMO from the big US cons that would typically fill a summer schedule and budget.

Please note that this blog covers the events I or close friends were able to attend, and is not a comprehensive list of every single furry event in Southern Ontario. This does not cover fursuit walks, or small scale furmeets, which are also hosted frequently. I can’t remember a summer this busy in my 18 years of being a part of this community. It’s been a good year to be a furry in the greater Toronto area.
